The Best of West 3rd Street, Los Angeles
Los Angeles is such a big, sprawling city that it can be overwhelming to visit! Especially if you've never been - it's taken us years of visiting here every month or so to finally feel like we understand enough to get by. LA is basically a hub of a ton of smaller cities and communities, and we love discovering vibrant streets that are full of things we love! West 3rd Street is one of those, and it's both walkable and in a super central location on the west side, which means it's kind of perfect if you're visiting.
Here's your guide to eating, drinking, and shopping along West 3rd Street in Los Angeles!
Where to Stay in West Hollywood
We love finding new places to stay in LA, and we've already shared a few with you (The Line Hotel and The Ace Hotel), but they've all been on the east side! When people ask us where to stay in LA, we always ask them what side of the city they want to be on more. Your life pretty much revolves around traffic in LA, so if you stay downtown LA but want to be near beaches and Hollywood, you're not going to have the best trip. The Orlando Hotel near West Hollywood in LA is SO central and in an ideal location, so if you're planning on more westside activities, this is the perfect place to stay in LA!
The Orlando Hotel has a gorgeous pool that gets sun all day long, so you can definitely sneak in some R&R in-between all your shopping, eating, and drinking. It's located on West 3rd Street in "mid-city west," which basically just means it's a vibrant, walkable street sandwiched between Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. It's super rare to have anything walkable in LA, the Arts District and Abbot Kinney are other two that come to mind, but we totally understand how nice it is to have walkable options nearby when you're visiting a new city! If you stay at the Orlando Hotel, here are some of our favorite places to eat, drink, and shop along West 3rd Street:
Where to Eat on West 3rd Street
We've been going to The Churchill for years, (the first time was actually on our very first road trip!) and only after staying here recently did we realize it's actually attached to The Orlando Hotel! We usually come for drinks in the evening, but it's definitely better to come for dinner and drinks on the ivy-lined patio at sunset. Doesn't get much more picture-perfect than this! Bonus points? About a 30 second commute from your hotel room.
Whether you're craving a California vintage or a craft cocktail, The Churchill's extensive drink list has you covered. The food is also sooo good, and while this may seem kind of cliché, we are obsessed with their kale salad. It was the perfect place to relax with some friends and just enjoy each other's company with the sun setting.
When you aren't eating at The Churchill, there's lots of other yummy options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on West 3rd Street! Kreation is a juice bar that also has an awesome restaurant, where you can get healthy smoothies, juices, acai bowls, and delicious food all day long on their fun, grassy patio. Goldie's is the perfect place to come for evening drinks or a boozy brunch, and you have to try Mainland Poke! Poke by the pool, anyone?
Where to Shop on West 3rd Street
If you're type of person who loves to shop on vacation, West 3rd street is totally for you! Staying at the Orlando Hotel means you are walking distance to the Beverly Center, super close to The Grove, a gorgeous outdoor mall, and you have all the local, independent shops along West 3rd Street. Stop in at our favorite Le Labo for some aromatherapy and decadent fragrances, treat yourself to something special at Library, and check out the new westside location of the gorgeous men's shop Wittmore.
Where to Get Coffee and Juice on West 3rd Street
And of course, no trip to southern California would be complete without finding the best juice in LA! And the best coffee, because you really need both in life. Luckily for you, there is an adorable Juice Served Here pick-up window right in the Orlando Hotel, so you don't have to go far for your healthy morning fix. And just a few doors down you'll find the full shop, with a super cute patio out back. And for coffee, our favorite Verve Coffee Roasters are only a few blocks away!
