Sipping Wine on a Hill at Scribe Winery, Sonoma
It wouldn't be a Sonoma trip without a little wine tasting! Or, a lot of wine tasting. Now, we are totally not wine gurus, but we do love a good bottle with friends. We found the best winery in Sonoma at Scribe Winery. Think grassy hills, Mexican blankets, gorgeous vineyards, and a fabulous afternoon with your besties.
The winery sits on the most gorgeous, green grounds, with picnic tables for tastings overlooking all the vineyards. It's quiet, peaceful, and a little piece of heaven.
And where there's grass, there's a picnic. They provide you with colorful Mexican blankets, and our friend Elizabeth brought this gorgeous vintage one along as well!
The winery doesn't allow outside food, but they do have their own delicious picnic baskets of goodies you can buy. You can enjoy bottles on the hillside, some yummy snacks, and the best part? It's not pretentious, and pretty much as perfect as it looks.
Sharing a bottle with friends is the best kind of wine tasting. We enjoyed both the pinot noir and riesling, and really loved them both! If you want a more guided wine experience, you can sign up for one of their picnic table tastings. They fill up about a month in advance though, so be organized on this one!
If you're headed to Sonoma, you must make Scribe Winery a destination on your list! Or just the destination.
