Swimming Holes + Huckleberries in Hood River

We love roadtrips because you never know what you're going to find. We stopped at Apple Valley Country Store because we wanted some fresh cherries, and next thing you knew we were taking an impromptu dive at a local watering hole! 

This little swimming hole (which comes complete with a rope swing!) is located across the street from the country store, and underneath the bridge. We made friends with some locals, escaped the heat, and took our turn on the rope swing.

And yes, we enjoyed the cherries too. We realized while writing this post that the river we were swimming in is actually Hood River, which is also the name of the city (not to get confused). Sunshine, please don't leave us!
